Mrs Clinton’s comment comes as Kim Jong-un and President Trump have been locked in a war of words, with both sides threatening to “totally destroy” the other.
The former Secretary of State did not mention Trump by name, but said: ”Picking fights with Kim Jong-un puts a smile on his face.”
Mrs Clinton also warned that "cavalier" threats to start war on the Korean Peninsula are "dangerous and short-sighted".
She added: ”There is no need for us to be bellicose and aggressive over North Korea.
The former first lady also indirectly referred to Trump's insults towards North Korea on Twitter, saying "the insults on Twitter have benefited North Korea, I don't think they've benefited the United States".
North Korea yesterday described the situation on the Korean Peninsula as “on the threshold of a nuclear disaster”.
The nation’s deputy UN ambassador Kim In Ryong warned tensions had “reached the touch-and-go point and a nuclear war may break out any moment”.
