Twitter reacts as Norwich appoint Ed Balls

 

The former politician will lead the Canaries board with immediate effect but social media users refuse to let him forget an accidental tweet from over four years ago...

Former Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls was appointed chairman of the board at Norwich City on Sunday and Twitter reacted in predictable fashion.

The politician, who ended a 10-year relationship with the Labour Party after losing his seat at the general election in May, is a lifelong Canaries fan and has held a variety of high-ranking political positions.

But he is perhaps best known for tweeting his name, and nothing else, in 2011. The anniversary of which is now celebrated year on year, with even the 48-year-old getting in on the act.
